The Burin Peninsula Chamber of Commerce would like to thank Premier Tom Marshall and Ministers Jackman and King for attending its Annual General Meeting on February 10, 2014. It was Premier Marshall's first public address since being named the 11th Premier of the Province. The event was attended by nearly 100 guests which included members, municipal leaders and members of the public. The Premier joined Mayor Sam Synard (Marystown) in congratulating Kaetlyn Osmond on her accomplishments. The Premier was presented with a Go Kaetlyn Go! t-shirt.

In his address, Premier Marshall suggested that his party is continuing to build on the work of former Premiers Danny Williams and Kathy Dunderdale to get more than the province was getting from its energy reserves. "We needed a new comprehensive energy plan and it has worked. The proof is where we were then and where we are now."

Following the Premier's address, Chamber President, Don MacBeath, conducted Chamber business. He referenced the booklets which were passed out that included an Annual Report, Annual Financial Statement and proposed amendments to the Chamber bylaws. This information is available at the Chamber office should any member who was unable to attend and wish to review it. The office is located at 245-247 Ville Marie Drive. Staff can be reached by calling 279-2080.
