Burin Peninsula Chamber of Commerce
The Burin Peninsula Chamber of Commerce is the voice of business in our region, promoting prosperity, growth, and business excellence. It does this through community leadership, communication, networking, and through advocating and promoting the social and economic interests of its members and the region.
We'd like to share with you the TOP 10 REASONS to be a MEMBER of the Burin Peninsula Chamber of Commerce:
1. GOVERNMENT LOBBYING:
It is the role of the Chamber to act as the voice of business on government policies that impact the business community. BPCC is active on the Atlantic Chamber's Provincial Advisory Committee and is constantly providing feedback about the economy and business situation on the Burin Peninsula to that organization. In addition, BPCC takes part in the annual review of resolutions that will be tabled at the Canadian Chamber AGM and participates in the vote on those resolutions.
2. BUSINESS RECOGNITION:
Your Chamber recognizes that you work hard and you deserve to be rewarded for your contributions to the local economy and support of your community. That's why we started the Annual Business Awards, now in its 5th year!
3. BUSINESS REFERRALS:
The Chamber receives inquires on local businesses within the region frequently and recommends members first.
4. OPPORTUNITY PLACENTIA BAY:
Opportunity Placentia Bay is all about connecting you with opportunities. In 2015, we had presentations in the Oil & Gas, Mining, Aquaculture and Manufacturing sectors. We put project managers and industry experts in front of you so that you can get the information needed to make informed business decisions.
5. TRAINING/PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT:
We recognize that training can be cost prohibitive and have therefore worked with a number of government departments and organizations to bring training and professional development opportunities to the Burin Peninsula. We believe that your location should not prohibit you from taking part in opportunities to learn and grow.
Networking is important to business and that is why we strive to host a number of networking sessions throughout the year. These events are your opportunity to market yourself, expand your network and increase business. We encourage you to take part in and take advantage of these events.
7. BUSINESS DIRECTORY:
Our website - www.burinpeninsulachamber.com - houses a business directory. Each of our members are listed there and are able to customize their own directory listing. This is especially great for businesses who do not have a web presence.
